These five Minor Prophets reveal God’s justice and mercy toward both Israel and the surrounding nations.

📌 Jonah

A reluctant prophet who flees from God’s call to preach to Nineveh. Through the great fish and Nineveh’s surprising repentance, the book reveals God’s compassion for even Israel’s enemies.

📌 Micah

Micah confronts injustice and false religion, yet promises a ruler to come from Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) and summarizes true religion: “to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

📌 Nahum

Nahum announces the coming judgment of Nineveh — the same city that repented in Jonah’s day — showing that God’s patience has limits and He will judge cruelty and pride.

📌 Habakkuk

Habakkuk wrestles honestly with God over injustice, and learns to trust and rejoice in God even when circumstances are hard: “the righteous shall live by his faith” (Habakkuk 2:4).

📌 Zephaniah

Zephaniah warns of the coming “day of the LORD” but ends with a joyful promise of restoration, picturing God rejoicing over His people with singing.

🔴 The Scarlet Thread of Redemption — Jesus Revealed in Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk & Zephaniah

These prophets point to Jesus through the sign of Jonah, the promise of Bethlehem, and the gospel principle of living by faith.

📌 The Sign of Jonah

Jesus pointed to Jonah’s three days in the fish as a sign of His own death and resurrection (Matthew 12:40).

📌 Born in Bethlehem

Micah 5:2 foretells that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem — fulfilled in Jesus (Matthew 2:6).

📌 The Righteous Live by Faith

Habakkuk 2:4 is quoted throughout the New Testament (Romans, Galatians, Hebrews) as a foundation of the gospel.

📚 Key Scripture
