THE GOD WHO SEES

An image of a woman in a meadow raising her hands and worshipping God

We are living in turbulent times and it can be so easy to become overrun by the hardships of life and all the troubles we face.  In times like this, it’s so easy to become weary and lose hope. But what we really need is to remember that our God is the God who sees and helps His children!

Genesis 16:13 says, “She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

GOD IS OUR REFUGE

This verse above is from the story in Genesis of Hagar who was Sarah’s slave and concubine.  She conceived and fell pregnant with Abraham’s child and became haughty towards Sarah.  Ultimately this resulted in Sarah treating her very badly and Hagar ran away.  Pregnant, destitute and alone in the desert she must have felt completely hopeless as she sat beside that spring.  But then God sent an angel with a message for her and in that moment hope was once again restored to her.  (Genesis 16)

Each one of us faces troubles, problems and stress in many ways and when it all feels overwhelming and like we’re drowning without any hope let’s remember that we serve “the God who sees”.  We are infinitely precious to Him and He is concerned with every detail of our lives right down to the smallest, seemingly most insignificant detail.

So the next time you face a situation that feels like it’s going to shatter you, remember that the Lord your God is the “God who sees”.  He is not unaware of the details of your life and what you’re facing.  He is our ever-present help always in times of need.  Lean hard on Him and trust Him with all with that is within you because His arm is not too short to save you and He cares about you right down to the very smallest detail concerning your life.
