GOD IS A MISSIONARY GOD

Right from the very first book of the Bible, we see that our God is a missionary God.  As a result, His heart is for the gospel to reach every person in every nation and tribe.  We see this in Genesis 12:1-4, The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.   “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Take note of the last part of that verse.  It says, “and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you”.  God started with one man, Abraham and from his lineage came Jesus through whom we have salvation.  Those of us who have placed our faith in Jesus are now the seed of Abraham. We will be a blessing to the earth. This happens because we share the gospel, and those who receive it will experience the blessing of salvation. What an immense blessing!

So you can see that our God is a missionary God with a heart to reach the lost.  And as His children, we carry this heart too. What a tremendous privilege God has given us to work alongside Him and help bring the lost to Him.

I encourage you today to take every opportunity you can to share the gospel with words and through how you live your life.  Let’s never forget that we carry the same heart as our Father to reach the lost!
