Have you ever faced a difficult situation that left you wondering how you were going to cope?  I certainly have. It’s a hard place to be.  However, as Christians, we have the most incredible hope and comfort in God.  We have the assurance that God will meet our every need! 

Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

In this verse, we see the phrase “I am” repeated twice.  We can trace it back to the Old Testament.  When God appeared to Moses in the burning bush, Moses asked Him what His name was.  God replied that His name is “I am”.  Exodus 3:14 “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.”

I AM EVERYTHING YOU WILL EVER NEED

What God is saying to us is that He is the self-existent, eternal, unchanging, ever-present One — the source of all being.  And He is limitless, completely unlimited!  Therefore, God is saying, “I am everything you will ever need” (note: He meets our every need, not necessarily our wants).  No matter what circumstance or situation we are facing, we have the comfort of knowing that God will meet our every need.  

Isn’t that such an incredible comfort?  No matter what comes in life, God is with us and meets our every need in that situation.

So when we apply that to the verse in Isaiah 41:10, we see that we don’t need to fear.  Why? Because “I am” is with us. Now we have the assurance of God saying, “I am everything you will ever need, therefore do not fear”.  And looking at the next part of the verse, we will not be dismayed because He is our God.  He will sustain us and help us.

May your heart be strengthened today! God is with you, He is for you, and He will meet your every need.  The great “I am” is with you, and in Him you will have everything you ever need.
