As we come to the final quarter of this year, it’s easy to feel weary. The busyness of the year can catch up with us and leave us feeling tired. Often, we can feel like we have nothing more to give. Yet, when it comes to our faith in God, we need to keep enduring! We need to keep running the race God has placed before us!
Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”
Today, I want to encourage each one of us to remember that God has given each of us a unique purpose. There are specific works He has prepared for us that we need to walk in. When we feel tired and are tempted to let things go, let’s remember God’s purpose for us. And let this propel us to keep working diligently.
RUN THE RACE!
Ultimately, we need to run our race with all our hearts every day. This is because we know that this life on earth is temporary and will fade away. What we do now for God and eternity is what truly matters in this life. Let’s keep this eternity perspective in mind and keep running our race diligently.
Finally, God has placed us all in unique situations of influence. Whether it’s in our homes, work or ministry we each have an area of influence. We each have a unique destiny that only we can fulfil. Let’s run this race as hard as we can while all of Heaven cheers. And finally, we will be welcomed home with the words I long to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” What a glorious moment that will be!
