KEEP SOWING GOOD SEEDS!

Galatians 6: 9-10 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”  Today God is encouraging each of us to keep sowing good seeds!

Let’s face it life can be challenging, overwhelming and downright tough at times. And as if that’s not enough, our busy daily schedules often leave us feeling tired and exhausted.  Yet this scripture in Galatians is urging us to keep a focus on doing good wherever we have opportunity.

This is such an important thing to keep in mind.  Remember that you won’t always be able to share the gospel with words.  There will be many times people will not be open to hearing the gospel.  Instead, you will need to live the message of the gospel.  And this is something we can do by helping and serving others through good works.  Oftentimes this will unlock people’s hearts and make them more open and receptive to hearing the gospel.

And remember, in those moments of feeling overrun and weary, not to give up because, in this scripture, God promises us that we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up.  So don’t look at your efforts to reach others and serve them through the eyes of discouragement.  It’s all too easy to feel discouraged when we don’t see results.  Instead, you need to do the following:

  • Determine in your heart to not just hear the word but to obey it
  • Stand on the promise of this verse
  • Keep pushing through, knowing that your harvest is coming if you don’t give up!

So that’s the encouragement to each of us today to go out and look for opportunities to serve others as Jesus served us.  He is our master and the ultimate example of a true servant, so let’s follow diligently in His footsteps and keep sowing good seeds.  And we know that God will open many opportunities for others to come to Him through this!
