Ezekiel and Daniel both ministered among the exiles in Babylon, assuring God’s people that He remained sovereign even in captivity and that He had a future for them.

📌 Ezekiel

A priest and prophet among the exiles, Ezekiel used dramatic visions and sign-acts to declare God’s judgment on Judah’s sin, God’s glory departing from and returning to the temple, and the promise of a new heart and a new spirit (Ezekiel 36:26). His vision of the valley of dry bones (chapter 37) pictures God bringing His people back to life.

📌 Daniel

Taken to Babylon as a young man, Daniel remained faithful in a pagan court through tests such as the fiery furnace and the lions’ den. The book also contains sweeping prophecies of world empires and the coming everlasting kingdom of God, including the vision of “one like a son of man” (Daniel 7:13-14).

🔴 The Scarlet Thread of Redemption — Jesus Revealed in Ezekiel & Daniel

Both prophets point beyond the exile to the coming Messiah and His eternal kingdom.

📌 The Good Shepherd

Ezekiel 34 promises that God Himself will shepherd His people and set over them “one shepherd, my servant David” — fulfilled in Jesus, the Good Shepherd (John 10).

📌 A New Heart and Spirit

Ezekiel 36 promises a new heart and the indwelling Spirit, fulfilled through Christ and the New Covenant.

📌 The Son of Man

Daniel 7 sees “one like a son of man” given an everlasting kingdom — Jesus’ favorite title for Himself.
