When we receive Jesus as our Saviour, God begins an incredible transformation in our lives. The truth, however, is that we partner with God in this transformation. Every day we need to choose to follow and obey His voice, we need to choose to put on the new man. The way we live counts and we either sow seeds of life or seeds of death. The question then is are you sowing seeds of life or death?
Galatians 6: 7-8 says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life”.
SEEDS PRODUCE A CROP
Just like the seeds we plant in the ground produce a crop, so too the things we do and say will also produce a crop. We need to remember that we can either sow seeds that bring life to other people and relationships or seeds of death that destroy other people and relationships. And these seeds we sow can have lasting effects that flow through many generations.
As children of God, let’s understand how serious this is and choose to sow seeds of life wherever we can. Let’s resist satan and the flesh that urges us to be hurtful towards others. Let’s choose to be people who walk in God’s light and bring life wherever we go, building up instead of breaking down, healing instead of destroying. We cannot do this in and of ourselves but with God’s help, we can be people who sow seeds of life and represent Jesus well wherever we go!
And always remember that we all mess up and will fail in this at times. There is no condemnation for us who are in Christ Jesus. So just confess it to God when you fail and trust Him to empower you with the Holy Spirit to sow seeds of life.
The choice to sow seeds of life or death is in our hands. Let’s choose to bring life to those around us and glorify the Lord our God!
