We all lead busy lives.  As a result, it can often leave us feeling overwhelmed and weary.  When we feel like this it can be hard to stay focused on our relationship with God and serving Him. Today, though I want to encourage each one of us to keep pressing on and to keep serving God faithfully!

1 Samuel 12:24 says, “Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart.  For consider what great things he has done for you”.

The verse above gives us two keys that can help us serve God faithfully even when we are tired.  Firstly, this verse tells us to fear the Lord.  This means that we need to always approach God with a deep sense of awe and respect.  If we keep this attitude then it will help us to always make God our priority.  This is what will keep us obedient to God and give us the ability to be faithful in our service to God.  

The second key is that this verse reminds us to think about what God has done for us.  This is truly what will help us push through and serve God faithfully.  God’s salvation that He makes freely available to us and the enormous price He paid to redeem us is incredible.  When we think about this it helps us remember what an indescribable privilege it is to know God and serve Him.

So that’s the encouragement for each one of us today.  God has given us the incredible gift of salvation and an eternal inheritance, let this drive us to love Him more deeply and serve Him more faithfully than ever before!
