HOW TO RENEW YOUR STRENGTH!

An image of an eagle soaring in the sky

It’s the start of a new year. Oftentimes we can feel weary when we look at how busy our lives are. It can leave us feeling stretched and make us wonder how we will juggle everything.  Yet, the Bible offers much hope for times of weariness.  It teaches you how to renew your strength.

Isaiah 40:31 says,

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

GOD’S STRENGTH IS LIMITLESS!

It’s easy to forget sometimes that God is not like us.  As a result, we are reminded that He does not become tired or weary.  His strength is limitless.

Isaiah 40:28 says,

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”

So the first thing we need to do is to renew our mindset. As a result, we remind ourselves that God’s strength is completely unlimited.  Consequently we realize what an incredible truth this is. It’s a beautiful reminder that He makes His limitless strength fully available to us at all times.

The second thing we do is to pray and ask God for His strength. Then we need to do what God says in Isaiah 40:31 – we wait on Him to receive it.  It’s important to understand that the word “wait” in this verse is NOT a passive kind of waiting.  Instead, it’s waiting with a joyful expectation of receiving God’s strength.  Consequently, it’s waiting with faith for what we know we will receive.

It’s simple really, yet too often we try to struggle on in life with our own limited strength.

May I encourage each one of us to simply receive by faith God’s strength?  He loves us beyond measure.  He cares about every single part of our lives and makes His strength freely available to us always!
