MORE THAN CONQUERORS

An image of a man standing on top of a mountain

Have you ever encountered a situation that felt impossible? I think we’ve all had moments in life like this.  We’ve all faced something that left us feeling like we were beating our fists on a brick wall.  Recently, I encountered a situation like this in my own life.  I was trying to sort out a banking admin issue. It was going nowhere very quickly (or should I say, “very slowly!”).  I couldn’t resolve it despite my best efforts. I was stuck and felt frustrated, stressed and helpless.  In the midst of this, I sought God and asked for His help.  I was reminded that we are more than conquerors through the trials of life!

Romans 8:37 reminds us that, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us”.

WALK BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT

When I first received this verse from the Lord, my first thought was, “But I don’t feel like a conqueror!”  I didn’t feel victorious at all. In fact, I felt downright defeated.  As I pondered this verse, I realized that the Bible is absolute truth.  Therefore, I need to receive it by faith.  I was determined that my dire circumstances would not be allowed to dictate whether or not I was a conqueror.  Likewise, I set my feelings aside and began to stand in faith that I am a conqueror.

I just want to encourage each one of us today.  We may be facing trials in life that leave us feeling weary and defeated.  Let’s take heart and be encouraged. We are more than conquerors.  Take your eyes off the things in your life that look impossible and set them firmly on Jesus.  Choose to stand on this truth and receive it by faith and in God’s timing you will see those mountains move!

In my own situation, breakthrough did come in an incredible way. My faith is strengthened and this truth has been cemented in my heart. We truly are more than conquerors in Christ!

We have such an incredible assurance as Christians that no matter what we face God is always with us.  His supernatural power can move any mountain, and we can trust Him completely!
