Satellite Bible School exists to train and equip believers through studying the Bible.  But what are the reasons we should study the Bible?

1. TO KNOW GOD MORE DEEPLY

God is the author of the Bible.  Though it is written by various authors we know that every word is God-inspired.  2 Tim 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” Therefore, to know God more deeply we need to study His word. In the Bible, we will begin to learn more about who God is and His character. As a result, the more deeply we know Him, the more deeply we will trust Him.

2. TO REACH THE LOST

Jesus has commissioned every believer to reach the lost (Matthew 28:19-20). This is our highest calling and something we need to pursue daily. Studying the Bible will equip us to be able to share the gospel effectively with those around us. Therefore, it’s very important to study the Bible so that we can do this in an effective way.

3. TO GROW IN WISDOM

We live in a crazy world where truth has become relative.  Studying the Bible will help us to know right from wrong and to walk in a way pleasing to God.

4. IT WILL EQUIP YOU FOR EVERY GOOD WORK

Every believer has a destiny to fulfil in God.  There are good works prepared for us to fulfil (Ephesians 2:10). In order to do this we need to study the Bible.

5. TO ENABLE YOU TO WALK IN VICTORY

The Bible is referred to as a sword.  It is one of the most powerful weapons we have in our spiritual armour.  If we want to walk in victory every day and overcome the attacks of the devil then we need to be grounded in the Bible. When the hard times come we will be able to stand on the Word of God and overcome the devil.

6. IT WILL HELP YOU ENDURE

We know that we will face persecution and times of testing as believers (John 15: 19-20). Studying the Bible will give you an unshakeable foundation that will enable you to stand strong and endure the hard times and persecution that will come. This is vital to help us run our race and finish strong in Christ!

7. YOU WILL RECEIVE DIRECTION

It can be challenging living as a believer in this world. The devil is looking for opportunities at every turn to trip us up and take us out. As a result, we need the word daily in our lives to direct us and encourage us in how we should live.

As you can see it’s so critical to study the bible because it gives us an unshakeable foundation in our lives. This helps us to stand firm and flourish in Jesus. It helps us to fulfil all the good works God has prepared for us. Most importantly of all it helps us to fulfil the Great Commission and reach the lost!
