God is a missionary God and His heart is to seek and save the lost. We see this in John 3:16 which says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life”.  From the start of the Bible, we see God set His plan of redemption in place.  He started with one man Abraham from whom came a nation, Israel. And ultimately from this nation came our saviour, Jesus who came to redeem the world. His ultimate goal is to reconcile the world to Himself, establish His Kingdom and glorify His name.  And He has invited every one of us who are His children to partner with Him.  We are on mission with God!

HOW DO I PARTNER WITH GOD?

God has given us the incredible privilege to partner with Him to freely share with others the forgiveness of sin and redemption we have received.  But how should we respond to this?

1. INVEST DEEPLY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Spend time with God and get to know Him more deeply.  Two ways you can do this is through reading and studying the word and spending time in prayer.  This will help you to grow as a Christian.  The more deeply you know God the more deeply you can share Him with others. 

2. SURRENDER YOURSELF TO GOD

Choose to surrender your life and your time to God.  Be alert when He opens opportunities for you to serve others and share the gospel with them.  Remember that you are the hands and feet of Jesus wherever you go so look for the opportunities He will open for you.

3. BE OBEDIENT

To be on mission with God requires that we are obedient when He directs us and opens opportunities for us to reach others.

The gift of salvation we have received from God is of indescribable value.  We need to ask God to give us hearts that want to reach the lost and share this indescribable gift with them.  We need to ask God to give us His heart for the lost and then partner with Him in His mission of reaching them!
