Every child of God has a very important task. God has given us the incredible opportunity to partner with Him. He wants us to reach others with His love and with the gospel. Each one, reach one!
We can see this in the following scripture.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”.
Jesus Himself commissioned each and every one of us to spread the gospel. As children of God, this needs to be our highest priority in this hour. There’s a lost and dying world out there. As a result, we need to bring the light of Christ to them.
You may be thinking “Well that’s the job of a missionary.” or “I’m not called to take the gospel to others”. Don’t be deceived! Jesus gave this commandment in Matthew 28:19 to each and every believer. That’s you and me!
Always remember that there are people you know who no one else can reach but you! This task is ours and we need to finish what Jesus has called us to do.
But how exactly do we do this?
- Begin to pray for those in your life who don’t know Christ. Ask God to give you divine opportunities to speak to them
- You can share what God has done for you.
- If they’re open you can share the gospel. If not you need to respect their feelings and keep praying.
One of the most important things you can do to prepare yourself to share the gospel is to study the bible.
2 Timothy 2:15
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth”
The more we study the word, the more we grow in our relationship with God and we gain a deeper understanding of the word. As a result, we can teach and help others and help them grow in their relationship with God.
WHAT IF SOMEONE IS CLOSED TO THE GOSPEL?
Remember, that as children of God, we sow seeds for salvation wherever we can. However, there will be people in our lives we can only pray for. They won’t be open to talking about faith and we need to respect their feelings. But please keep pushing through in prayer.
There will be others though, who will be open and willing to talk so grab these opportunities and sow as many seeds as you can.
Remember, you may not lead everyone you meet to Christ but you can faithfully sow seeds for their salvation. It’s a process but we can all play our part. Keep diligently sowing seeds for Jesus in the lives of those around you and help them to grow deeper in their relationship with God.
Keep shining and be a light for Christ. If we all do this, we will play our part in bringing in an immense harvest of souls for Jesus!
Consider signing up for Bible School to deepen your knowledge of the word as you lead others to Christ!
