As followers of Christ, we understand the importance of studying and knowing the bible.  It equips us to do what God has called us to do.   We see this in 2 Timothy 3:17, “So that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”  It’s vital then to study the word of God. And this is what we offer at Satellite Bible School.  But who can attend Satellite Bible School?  Read on!

Anyone over the age of 18 with a grade 12 qualification is most welcome to join Satellite Bible School.  However, we have a very specific focus on reaching and equipping Pastors.

Now that we’ve looked at who can attend Satellite Bible School let’s explore why we have such a focus on reaching Pastors.

WHY IS THERE A FOCUS ON REACHING PASTORS

We have a strong focus on reaching Pastors to equip them and train them in the Word. This is because they are the shepherds feeding the sheep.  Acts 20:28 says, “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood”.

Pastors carry an enormous responsibility in taking care of the flock God has entrusted to them.  And they can only give them as much knowledge as they themselves have received.  We have encountered so many Pastors with a passion to shepherd the body of Christ yet lacking a solid understanding of the bible. This limits them severely in equipping their congregation.

As a result, we believe it’s critical to give Pastors a solid foundation in the bible. In this way, they will be fully equipped to feed their congregation spiritually and help them grow. Ultimately, this just strengthens the body of Christ. It equips them to share the gospel with others and thus fulfil the Great Commission. And that’s the end goal for each of us as Christians!
